Liberty students had a successful showing at the Colorado Science and Engineering Fair held at CSU in Fort Collins April 9-11. Those who represented were: Taelynn Rojas, Katherine Madrid, Kilah Rojas, Kinzi Dawson, Kynzlee Rojas, Juakin Sawatzky, Skyler Kechter, Bode Monahan, Paxton McClellan, and Haydan Drullinger.
In the Senior Division:
Haydan Drullinger, senior, placed first in the category of Engineering and 3rd place overall in Best of Fair. He is an International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) qualifier. He also received two special awards: CO2/Greenhouse Reduction Foundation (1st place), and Society of Manufacturing Engineers (1st).
Juakin Sawatzky, junior, received a special award from the Colorado Native Plant Society (1st place) for his project in the Earth and Environmental Sciences category.
Bode Monahan, freshman, received 3rd place in the Mathematics & Computer Sciences category. He previously qualified to show at ISEF as well, which is to be held in Phoenix this May.
Kinzi Dawson, freshman, received a special award from the CO2/Greenhouse Gas Reduction Foundation (1st) for her project in the Chemistry division.
In the Junior Division:
Skyler Kechter, 8th grade, received a special award from the Colorado Foundation of Agriculture for her project in the Animal Sciences category.
Paxton McClellan, 6th, received a Pioneer of Science Award from his project in the Plant Sciences division.
