Fifteen students represented the Liberty Knights at the 2026 Northeast Region Science Fair

Once again, Liberty students represented well at the Northeast Colorado Regional Science Fair in Sterling on Thursday. 

Liberty students who will be representing Liberty and the Northeast Region at the Colorado Engineering and Science Fair include: Bode Monahan, Juakin Sawatzky, Haydan Drullinger, Kinzi Dawson, Kilah Rojas, Taelynn Rojas, and Katherine Madrid in the Senior Division; Skyler Kechter, Paxton McClellan, and Kynzlee Rojas in the Junior Division.

Senior Division - Best of Fair went to Bode Monahan, who also placed 1st in the Senior Division of Math and Computers, and received the US Naval Research special award. He has the opportunity to present at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)  in Phoenix this May.

Juakin Sawatzky placed 3rd Overall and first in the Environmental Science category. Special awards include: Soil and Water Conservation Society (2nd place), Stockholm Junior Water Prize, and the Wenstrom Excellence in Geoscience & Mapping Award. 

Haydan Drullinger placed 1st in the senior division of Engineering and received special awards, including: Citadel Securities, Soil and Water Conservation Society (1st place), the Dain Wise Memorial/Crop Production award, and the Yale Science and Engineering Association Award. 

Tyler Wise placed 2nd in the senior division of Plant Sciences, and received the Dain Wise Memorial/Crop Production special award.

Carter McClellan placed 3rd in the senior division of Animal Sciences  and received a NASA Earth Systems Science Award.

Kinzi Dawson placed 1st in the senior division of Chemistry and received the American Women in Geosciences special award.

Kilah Rojas placed 2nd in the senior division of Behavioral Science. She received a special award from the American Psychological Foundation.

Taelyenn Rojas placed 2nd in the senior division of Microbiology. She received the NOAA Pulse of the Planet special award.

Katherine Madrid placed 1st in the senior division of Health Sciences. She received the US Air Force special award.

Travis Wise placed 2nd in the senior division of Health Sciences.

In the Junior Division, Skyler Kechter placed 3rd Overall, and 2nd in the Animal Sciences division. She also received the US Naval Research special award.

Paxton McClellan placed 1st in the junior division of Plant Science and received a special award from the Soil Water Conservation Society.

Kynzlee Rojas placed 2nd in the junior division of Plant Science. She also received a special award from the American Women in Geosciences. 

Emmaline Drullinger placed 3rd in Animal Science and received a special award from the American Women in Geosciences. 

Brayden Harris received the Ricoh Sustainable Development special award. He placed second in the junior division of Microbiology.

A big thank you to Ms. Linda Fogale for continuing to cultivate a love of the sciences in Liberty students. Liberty is incredibly proud of the Science Fair Program.
